The rumors are true! I’m an EO (Essential Oil) Junkie

It’s 8:45 on a Monday morning and surprisingly I’m up before any of my kids. I’ve been up for a little over an hour and I’ve already used 3 different EOs (Essential Oils), as well as multiple other Young Living products. Let’s back track a little, then move on throughout my day. I will mention many of the Young Living products and essential oils I use on a daily basis. There is no obligation to purchase anything. I simply just want to share my journey and how these things have become an essential part of my healthy lifestyle! I hope you learn a few things along the way and enjoy a little of my crazy.

First Things First

7:35 – I’m up and my day is starting with a super quick shower. Two drops of Eucalyptus EO on a wet washcloth in the corner of the tub woke me right up and opened up my sinuses. What a glorious feeling! Love this stuff.

7:50 – After my shower, I simply add a couple drops of Grapefruit EO to my morning body lotion routine. This feels (and smells) delightful. Next, comes Frankincense EO. I apply 1-2 drops to my face moisturizer, typically I do this 3 or 4 times a week. Frankincense not only promotes healing, but it also works wonders on scars and wrinkles. This oil is a power house! I highly encourage you to check out my the product highlights on both Grapefruit & Frankincense essential oils.

8:45 –  Freshened up and ready to get on with my day. I fill up my 16 oz stainless steel water bottle and add 2 drops of Grapefruit EO. I down this before I put anything else into my body. Water intake is crazy important and Grapefruit EO is super amazing for the metabolism!

9:10 – The kids are up, I’ve downed my Grapefruit EO infused water, and my daughter is soaking in the bath with a little epsom salts & Lavender EO. My 10 year old is working on putting the finishing touches on my morning power coffee (he’s turned into quite the little barista actually). This morning he added a single drop of Cinnamon Bark Vitality EO. Wowza, definitely warms up the flavor a bit. Plus, cinnamon is great for regulating blood sugar. So, that means it makes a fabulous addition to a morning cup of joe!

Mid Morning Routine

10:00 – My head and neck were a tad sore this morning from a battle with a not-so-friendly pillow overnight. I applied a little PanAway EO blend to my knotted neck, as well as some Deep Relief Roll-On to my temples which helped elevate the discomfort. We also have a blend of Thieves, Tangerine, Peppermint, and Lemon diffusing during language lessons. This is a personal recipe my 13 year old came up with. Not too shabby.

10:45 – It’s a gymnastics day for my 5 year old. I ALWAYS apply our Immune System Booster Roll-On before she heads out the door. I make up a fresh batch every couple of months using Frankincense, Thieves, and Oregano Essential Oils. Roll it on and my little spaghetti feet is off to class. I always call her spaghetti feet because mmmm that Oregano aroma makes me think of spaghetti every single time! Haha. Weird, I know.

The Afternoon Breeze

1:15 – Quiet Time for my kiddos has begun. My oldest has his diffuser going while he works on math, oil choice for the day is the Surrender EO. My daughter has Tranquil Roll-On applied to the bottoms of her feet for relaxation purposes, and I have some Joy EO on my wrists. Typically Release EO is my go to quiet time blend, but today I decided to mix it up! I absolutely love both these oils!

3:10 – I’ve had a productive day and am actually going to get dinner on the table tonight! Definitely a huge win for me! Seriously though. What’s on the menu? Cabbage Soup! I just finished throwing all the ingredients for this super easy recipe into the pot. All it takes is about 4 drops of Black Pepper EO to make this dish superb! Everyone (yes, even the 5 year old) loves this soup. We literally eat it year round.

Family Time

4:45 – We just returned from a speedy trip to the park. Boys are working on some afternoon chores, my daughter and I are enjoying a book on the couch with Oola Grow EO going in the living diffuser. A simple moment of relaxation after a productive day.

5:15 – I’m making some delicious Blueberry Banana Muffins with 10 drops of Lemon EO. This is a huge favorite in our house. We will enjoy these for dessert after our cabbage soup, then probably enjoy the rest for breakfast in the morning. Haha! Simply delish!

Bedtime Rituals

8:05 – My 5 year old daughter is tucked in bed, KidScents SleepyIze EO is going in her diffuser. Lavender EO also works great for her, but SleepyIze is the absolute bomb! Whenever we miss a night, it’s definitely noticed. She sleeps incredibly well when we have this going.

9:30 – My boys are headed to bed with their diffusers filled. Tonight they created their own nighttime mixture, with a few drops each of Lavender and Cedarwood EOs. On occasion they like to mix it up and use Peace & Calming EO instead.

11:15 – Time for me to finally settle in for the night. I just started a little Valor and Frankincense EOs going in my diffuser. Sometimes my days are so long, I forget to take care of me at the end of the night so the diffuser doesn’t always get filled like it should. Thankfully it did tonight. Valor is my favorite bedtime EO by far!

Where I Ended

Total EO Count For Today – 21!

If you’re new to using essential oils, you might think 21 seems a little over kill. However, if your a veteran oil user you wont think anything of it! The more I learn about EOs, the more uses I find for them. Plus, keep in mind I didn’t technically use 21 different oils only on myself. Some were used on my children, in food, or even just diffused. It’s definitely not over kill.

On this particular day, I tried to be incredibly mindful of routine and jot down my oil usage. However, I usually don’t even give it a second thought. I drop oils in this and that all day long, it’s just the norm. With that said, routine sometimes does escape me and our days don’t always match up. There tend to be days we use more essential oils, as well as days we use less. It honestly just depends. I definitely find myself using less essential oils in the summer time. Why? Lack of routine, plain and simple!

My Personal Products

Now that I have shared my oil usage with you, I want to talk about a handful of other Young Living products that I personally used throughout this specific day. For starters, I used Sensation Bath & Shower Gel, Copaiba Vanilla shampoo and Copaiba Vanilla conditioner in the shower. Mirah Shave Oil for shaving my legs. Sensation Hand & Body Lotion and the Art Skin Care System as part of my morning routine. Thieves AromaBright Toothpaste, Dental Floss, and Mouthwash for my oral hygiene.

I also took OmegaGize³, Longevity, Super C, and Life 9 supplements on this day (and everyday). I always use Lemon Sandalwood bar soap in my bathroom as well has Thieves foaming hand soap.

Other Household Products

We have Young Living bar soaps in each bathrooms in our house. Lavender Oatmeal in the main bathroom (for my daughter), Lemon Sandalwood in mine, Melaleuca Geranium for the boys. We also use a ton of Thieves based products in our home on a daily basis. I already mentioned the Thieves AromaBright Toothpaste, Thieves Mouthwash, and Thieves Dental Floss. We also use Thieves foaming hand soap (Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier when on the go), Thieves Laundry Soap, and Thieves Dish Soap. This dish soap has dual roles in our home, we use it for traditional dish washing, as well as getting strong odors out of our kids’ clothing (accidents happen). I use Thieves Fruit & Veggie wash for all of our produce, and last but certainly not least… I use Thieves Household Cleaner for literally everything! This stuff is powerful and amazing. I use it in the bathroom, kitchen, everywhere!
